Looking at the numbers provided by the federal government for a recent year, trying to win social security disability or SSI disability benefits in Florida has been no easier than trying to win disability benefits in any other state. And even if they don't and are forced to request a hearing before an administrative law judge, being represented at this stage of the process typically goes much better when a lawyer or non attorney rep is involved. Many judges, in fact, will advise claimants who show up at a hearing unrepresented that they have the right to representation and this may be construed as a way of saying "come back later with a lawyer, you'll have a better chance of winning if you do".
