How might guaifenesin help to ease or relieve fibromyalgia symptoms ?
The theory behind guaifenesin use is that it helps to rid the cells of excess fluid they have stored in an attempt to flush out cellular waste. In the process of eliminating this fluid, the cells are also rid of excess phosphates, calcium, and other wastes. Once the cell has been cleared of the excess waste materials, it can return to normal ATP function, and over time all cellular function that has been disrupted should resume. According to this theory patients should, over time, see an increase in energy, and a decrease in painful muscular contraction and mental confusion.
