How does fibromyalgia contribute to a suppressed immune system ?
People with fibromyalgia often have low levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter needed to activate natural killer (NK) T-cells that help the body fight off sickness. People with fibromyalgia may not have enough serotonin present in the body to support their immune systems.
