How does fibromyalgia contribute to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) ?
Fibromyalgia can cause a contracting of all muscle tissue in the body, including the smooth muscles lining the gastrointestinal tract. Constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain and bloating associated with IBS are common in people with fibromyalgia.
